End of Year Update and Budget for 2025
Hello Berkeley Neighbors,
I hope everyone’s new year is off to a good start. I apologize for the confusion with the dues invoice for this year. I was on vacation with my family when I realized that apparently the website invoices automatically and without seeing if it needed to update. Who knew! I will for next year! So just know….even though it says 2024, it is completely fine to pay and will be counted for this year. We are going to see if it can be updated but I want to make sure that will not cause a bigger issue.
Attached you will find our financials for 2024 as well as a budget for 2025. A few key items. The capital projects line reflects the actual cost to finish the signs project. We have paid our deposit and will pay the balance once the installation is complete. Our rent is increasing this year to cover the cost of a storage unit. All the supplies for our various events and committees have become too burdensome for our board members to store so we are renting a small unit. If you have questions please contact me.
As you look at our results from 2024 you will see that we finished very close to what was budgeted. We did not make our income number…but we also had lower than expected expenses. We currently have a surplus of $59,877 that can be used for capital projects in the neighborhood.

Jason Smith has done a fantastic job as our neighborhood president. Unfortunately, he needs to step down due to a significant increase in his work load. We need some new board members who are excited to join the board and help keep Berkeley amazing. Please contact either myself or Jason if you are interested. Remember that we are all volunteers and sharing the load is how we keep this ship afloat.
