Mid- Year Financials
Mid-Year Financial Update
Hello Berkeley Neighbors,
My name is Lee Sugg and I have recently come on as the treasurer of the HOA. I know many of you, but for those I do not know, my husband Wes and I are 23 year residents of Berkeley. We have loved raising our 3 kids here and look forward to enjoying many great years in this wonderful neighborhood. If you ever have any questions about the budget or spending, please contact me at leersugg@gmail.com.
It is hard to believe that we are just past the half-way point of 2024! To date, we have collected $36,256 (after fees) in membership dues. This is significantly less than in prior years and less than we anticipated as we prepared the budget. We have 125 families that have not paid dues. If you are one of those families, I encourage you to use the link below to pay your $155 dues on our website.

If January was a long time ago and you have no idea if you paid…please just send me an email and I will check.
So far this year we have spent about $5400 on landscaping and repair of the irrigation system. We have provided insurance coverage costing $2085 for the “common areas.” We have spent $1500 on utilities and paid for the cost of the ice cream at the block party and the senior banners.
We are also in the process of getting quotes to have all 300+ of the street sign posts and light posts repainted. Quotes have come in between $45,000 and $65,000. Yes, it is a significant expense, but if you really look at the posts the next time you are heading out you will see that it is a necessary “upkeep” item.
As you are all aware, the HOA is voluntary, but it takes a village to keep our neighborhood looking amazing. Please consider paying if you haven’t, as everyone benefits from keeping our neighborhood clean and looking great. My goal in this role is to be completely transparent and provide a service to our neighborhood. Again, if you ever have concerns or questions, please contact me or our HOA President Jason Smith. javgsmith@gmail.com
Thank you and do your best to stay cool,
Lee
